New U.S. Passport Application Forms

Americans traveling to other countries will soon be required to use new forms to apply for passports. The application fees have remained unchanged (for now).

Newly designed passport applications have been released. We should have the printed versions available for free at The Photo Express approximately March 10.

Passport acceptance offices will continue to accept the old forms during the transition. However, people are being told "the use of the old form may significantly delay the processing of their passport application."

Amoung the changes, applicants can order the standard 28-page passport book or order an oversized 52-page book at no extra charge (recommened for applicants who have previously required the addition of extra visa pages).

Here are some cost saving tips on passports

Up until now adding extra pages into a passport book has been free. Regular travelers needing extra pages will now pay an additional $82 for added pages. If you will be doing a lot of travel internationally, request that additional pages for free when applying for your new passport.

Many North Dakotans opt for a passport card which is limited to travel into Canada and a few other Western Hemisphere countries.
